| To the Crew of the USCGC Rockaway: Last September a memorial service was held for SOCM Charles R. Harris in Sun City, AZ. Prior to his passing, I promised my Uncle that I would transport his remains... by motorcycle to Watford City North Dakota.... where he would be buried next to his father and mother (Lillie and Clair Harris). Following the September 2005 service, SOCM Charles R. Harris remain's were transported to Rio Rancho New Mexico as part of our first leg of his motorcycle journey. Honoring my promise, the second leg of my Uncle’s final journey will continue on May 19th, 2006 and will end in Watford City North Dakota on May 27th. There is a grave side burial service scheduled for noon on May 28th. As stated above, the final journey will continue on May 19th, starting from Rio Rancho New Mexico, through Durango Colorado, Grand Junction Colorado, Green River Wyoming, Jackson Hole Wyoming (1 week lay-over). A second rider, Dr. Lars Sikes (NAVSEA) will join us in Jackson Hole, and ride with us through Yellow Stone National Park, Billings Montana, Mile City Montana, Glendive Montana (over-night camping stay May 26th), with a planned arrival in Watford City North Dakota on May 27th. | Hi Everyone, As a follow-up to the Reunion and to celebrate his 76th birthday (June 10th), those members of the 2005 Reunion Committee who have not left the Valley of the Sun for the summer gathered at Chuck's home yesterday. His sisters, Marlene and Ellen, and Marlene's husband, Harry, were also with us. It was a great day! Here are some photos I thought you might like to see.
